GSA Curriculum

What is a “Global Citizen”

We believe that a “Global Citizen” is someone who is capable of and has the empathy to understand the similarities and differences among people, beyond race, nationality, ethnicity, gender, and religion, and work together in order to create new opportunities and possibilities for the human race.

What must one do in Order to become a “Global Citizen”?

We believe a”Global Citizen” must be able to speak the global language (linga-franca) to communicate internationally, think critically and problem solve effectively in that language in order to be empathetic and able to express ones thoughts and feelings accurately in a appropriate way to flourish and be successful in the complex world we live in today. These individuals must be able to collaborate with others, develop strong global networks and create new opportunities and possibilities together to become catalysts in making the world a more harmonious environment.

Student Development Phase in becoming a "Global Citizen”

Our Curriculum Philosophy

The GSA Curriculum and lessons are the highway towards the goal of being an international student whose opportunities would include taking classes anywhere in the world... Instead of stagnate streets with dead ends we put students in the driver’s seat and give them an ever improving open road that can stretch as far as the imagination. GSA is where investing in English language learning isn’t just a phrase but is meaningful and as natural as a daily commute.

GSA Curriculum Development Team

All respected and successful schools adopt or create a comprehensive curriculum to guide instruction. This gives a roadmap of key standards that need to be taught and learned in the course of students’ academic studies at a particular institution. This is an open document that makes objectives and achievements clear to teachers, students, and parents. Teachers’ lessons are created around a framework that has direction and a goal.

At GSA we believe that English is a course of study that requires an academic curriculum. Students should be exposed to English and have new experiences, both fun and thought provoking. The curriculum itself isn’t the experience but the road, the highway that connects them. A summer camp, a trip to an English speaking country, a Halloween party, a concert in English, or the latest Disney movie in English are all wonderful experiences but alone they don’t move a language learner forward. This is because they aren’t connected to each other by an academic curriculum that takes a student in the direction of language proficiency.

The GSA Curriculum and lessons are the highway towards the goal of being an international student whose opportunities would include taking classes anywhere in the world. Students would be moving at various speeds on this academic highway but no one would be standing still. Language learning must always be moving forward and shouldn’t have stoplights. Wonderful experiences like summer camps, concerts, and trips are interesting places you might visit as you exit a highway. You enjoy them and learn from them, but when they are finished your language learning doesn’t conclude. Instead you get back onto the highway where you can get to the next great experience while solidifying past ones in your heart and mind.

A strong and well supported curriculum is the backbone of substantive and meaningful learning. Instead of stagnate streets with dead ends we put students in the driver’s seat and give them an ever improving open road that can stretch as far as the imagination. GSA is where investing in English language learning isn’t just a phrase but is meaningful and as natural as a daily commute.
